Your Acupuncturist
Marcela Fernandes, MSOM, Dipl. O.M. (NCCAOM)®, L.Ac.
Marcela’s passion for Traditional Chinese medicine has grown over the years. She first became interested in this ancient wisdom in 2008 when she was first introduced to it at a school’s natural health fair. A year later she started a combined bachelors and masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at a Portuguese school, 30 minutes away from her hometown. After studying for almost two years, she left to pursue other passions.
Years later, she was presented with the opportunity to continue her education in traditional Chinese medicine in the United States.
She graduated in 2020 with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.
She loves this medicine and the interconnectedness of the human body and our health with nature, and how we are dependent and subject to its forces. She enjoys helping patients with care of internal medicine issues, women’s health, digestive health, stress management, anxiety and depression, and pain management.
Passion for people and natural healing is what drives her practice. Her goal is to improve wellbeing by helping people to manage disease and maintain their health. She works to make acupuncture accessible to as many people as possible because health is a right that we all share.
